Position Overview
A Millwright / Industrial Mechanic is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery and mechanical equipment used in manufacturing, construction, and production facilities. The role ensures that machinery operates efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, and align industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to technical specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventive servicing of machinery and production equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and carry out repairs on equipment such as pumps, conveyors, motors, compressors, and gear systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Dismantle, move, and reassemble machinery during upgrades, repairs, or plant relocations.
- Replace or repair defective components such as bearings, belts, shafts, and gears.
- Test machinery and equipment after installation or repair to ensure proper operation and safety compliance.
- Use precision measuring tools and alignment instruments to ensure equipment accuracy.
- Maintain detailed maintenance and service records.
- Follow workplace safety standards, procedures, and company policies.
