An HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role ensures climate control systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems including heating units, air conditioning systems, ventilation systems, and refrigeration equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues within HVAC systems and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
- Conduct routine maintenance and system performance checks to ensure optimal efficiency.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and installation manuals.
- Test HVAC systems and components using specialized diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Replace or repair defective parts such as compressors, motors, thermostats, and fans.
- Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
- Provide recommendations for system upgrades, replacements, or improvements when required.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and use appropriate protective equipment.
