An Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial environments. The role involves ensuring electrical installations operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable electrical codes and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, lighting systems, control systems, and electrical equipment.
- Inspect electrical systems, components, and equipment to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical schematics to determine the layout of electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and perform timely repairs or replacements of defective components.
- Test electrical systems and circuits using appropriate testing devices to ensure proper functionality and safety.
- Ensure all installations and repairs comply with local electrical codes, building regulations, and safety standards.
- Plan and execute electrical installations according to project specifications and timelines.
- Perform routine maintenance and preventative inspections to minimize system downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
